All our prices include 21% VAT (exception: books 6% VAT) and exclude shipping costs.

1. Orders and payments

The following payment methods are available: Bancontact, IDEAL, Creditcard and PayPal.

Any inaccuracies in the invoice must be reported to De Hartjesdief by the customer immediately, so that we can correct the amount.

2. Shipping

Worldwide delivery.

Shipping is done via Sendmyparcel with tracking for all packages.

Orders over €79 receive free shipping to Belgium and the Netherlands. If your package is not collected from the collection point and is returned to us, the return costs will be borne by the customer.

Shipping is done via Bpost and Post.nl. You can choose to have your shipment delivered to your home or to a collection point near you. In exceptional situations, shipping is done via DPD.

Orders are shipped within 1 to 2 business days. Orders placed on weekends will be shipped on Monday. You will receive a tracking code to keep you informed of your package's location.

De Hartjesdief cannot be held responsible for damage, theft, or loss of goods during shipping via bPost, PostNL, or DPD.

We do everything we can to pack the goods as well and safely as possible.

3. Discounts

Discount codes are only awarded to specific customers or customer segments, such as email subscribers. In case of misuse, we reserve the right to cancel the order.

Discount codes cannot be combined unless otherwise stated. Discount codes also do not apply to already discounted items.

4. Right to withdraw from the purchase of the goods - right of withdrawal

The consumer has the right to inform the seller that he/she wishes to cancel the purchase, without penalty and without giving a reason, within 14 calendar days from the day following delivery.

The buyer must return the product to the seller within 14 calendar days in its original condition, unused, undamaged, with all original labels and in its original packaging.

The seller undertakes to refund the purchase price of the product (excluding shipping costs) paid by the buyer within 30 days of receipt of the product.

If the return is not made correctly in accordance with the above, the seller will not be obliged to pay any amount and the product will remain the property of the buyer. The buyer can then collect it from the seller within 14 days or, at the buyer's express request and expense, it will be returned to the buyer.

The risk of returning the product, as well as the cost of returning it, is borne solely by the buyer.

If the package is not picked up at the collection point and is returned to us, the return cost will be charged to the customer.

5. Exchange

Still not satisfied with your product? That's a shame. We'll try to resolve this as follows:

• 14-day cooling-off period after receiving your product
• For exchanges: we will ship the new product free of charge

Items purchased from De Hartjesdief's online store can be exchanged within 14 days of delivery, provided the product is unused, undamaged, and has all original labels. Worn, soiled, smoked, washed, damaged, or repaired goods cannot be returned.

We ask that you inform us within 5 working days if you wish to exchange a product.

The costs and risks associated with returning the products are solely the responsibility of the buyer.

We reserve the right to refuse an exchange if we suspect that the product has been damaged by the customer, has already been used, or if the reasons are unfounded.

Sale items or products on promotion cannot be exchanged.

6. Complaints

We strive to describe the offered items as accurately as possible and to clarify them with the help of photos.

In the event of typographical errors (material errors), this is due to a human, unintentional mistake and no rights can be derived from it.

Colors in the photos may also differ slightly from the actual colors.

Your screen settings and quality can affect this, as can the amount of light hitting the screen.

Therefore, we cannot accept returns based on color variations.

If you have any doubts about a particular product or require further information, please feel free to contact us.

We reserve the right to adjust our prices.

We do everything we can to thoroughly check our products for any errors or defects. However, we are not liable for any defects that may occur in the items offered on our website. We ask you to contact the manufacturer directly. Please also inform us so that we can further investigate the products.

We do everything we can to prevent, remedy, and resolve any complaints.

We cannot be held liable for injuries or damage resulting from the use of our products.

7. Warranty

As required by law, our products are also covered by a statutory warranty.

If a product does not comply with the agreement, the buyer must inform the seller within 7 days following delivery.

Any compensation for this can never exceed the invoiced/paid amount to the buyer. Ordinary or normal wear and tear, unintentional or intentional changes made by the buyer to the product, the inability to present an invoice or proof of payment, and various neglects are explicit but not exhaustive exceptions to the aforementioned warranty system.

8. Property rights

No data or photos from our site may be copied or used without our express permission.

9. Privacy

In accordance with the new European privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation, which has been in effect since May 25, 2018, we will inform you about the grounds on which we collect and use data.

We need your data as soon as you purchase a product from De Hartjesdief, as this creates a contractual relationship. We use your data to process your order, handle delivery, manage any returns, and for contact with our customer service.

We may also use your data for a legitimate interest. This is primarily to provide our customers with the best service and relates to customer service contact, providing reviews, customer satisfaction surveys, website visits, use of an account on our website, the newsletter and email correspondence, any personal advice, promotions and campaigns, and social media.

In addition to legitimate interest, there may also be a legal obligation to use your data, for example, in case of suspected fraud. Sometimes you have also given permission for your data to be used, such as when signing up for a newsletter. All of this is kept track of.

Your data will only be shared with third parties if this is necessary to provide you with better service. This includes delivery services, suppliers, payment partners, parties that collect reviews, or external parties that provide IT-related services to our webshop.

Data management platforms, media and advertising agencies, and research agencies come into play as soon as we show targeted ads, based on your interest in certain products.

The parties that have access to your data from us may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of De Hartjesdief. We never sell your data to third parties.

Your data is stored in various databases and is not kept longer than necessary. We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. We use this period because, in accordance with tax legislation, we must keep your payment data for 7 years. After that, we can use the data anonymously for internal analyses.
