Gottmer | The shy little bird
'The shy little bird' is a funny children's book by the duo behind 'Stuiver and Fluff in Ancient Egypt' and 'Stuiver and Fluff at the Vikings'. Illustrator Liset Celie creates a splendor of cheerful birds and Jan Paul Schutten transforms 'hebban olla vogala' into a comical picture book.
It is very noisy in the forest: all the birds are building a nest, whistling loudly. Not the little greenfinch yet. He is too shy to ask the female greenfinch if she wants to start a nest with him. He asks the blackbird for help, but with all that chattering she completely misunderstands him! And the jackdaw also hears something very different from what the blackbird says. And the rook doesn't understand the jackdaw again... Soon everyone is flying in a long swing through the forest, over the meadow, the estate and to the beach. With the shy greenfinch at the very back. Will it still be ok?
