Children's book publisher De Vier Windstreken was founded in 1983 and has its roots in NordSüd Verlag, a Swiss publisher that wanted to publish its books in the Netherlands. Since 2005, however, the publisher has been completely independent and they decide for themselves which titles they publish. Sometimes these are translations, sometimes in-house productions (books by Dutch authors and illustrators). The books are generally characterized by universal themes that appeal to children all over the world; boundless reading pleasure is paramount!
